SUMMARY:Revolutionary Spring: In conversation with Professor Sir Christopher Clark
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Monday 22 May for a conversation with Sir Christopher Clark on his new book\, Revolutionary Spring: Fighting for a New World 1848-1849\, a dazzling account of 1848\, the year when seemingly out of a clear blue sky virtually every European state was overwhelmed by revolution. It marked a turning point that shaped much of modern European history\, a year with which Clark draws explicit parallels with unrest in Europe today. \nChristopher Clark is one of the most revered historians of 19th century continental Europe working today\, and author of the international bestseller Sleepwalkers\, published 2012. He is Regius Professor of History at the University of Cambridge and his books include The Politics of Conversion\, Kaiser Wilhelm II\, Iron Kingdom\, Time and Power and Prisoners of Time. He was knighted in 2015. \nThe event is generously being hosted by the Austrian Embassy and will take place at 18 Belgrave Square\, London\, SW1X 8PQ. Doors will open at 6pm BST for a 6.30pm start. The discussion will last an hour and will be followed by a reception. The event will conclude at 9pm. \nYou can watch the event video here:
