SUMMARY:German Elections 2021: Setting the Scene
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday 8 July at 6.30pm BST for a discussion on the 2021 Bundestag elections with Jana Faus\, Co-Founder of pollytix strategic research\, and Christian Stecker\, Visiting Professor at TU Darmstadt. The event will be moderated by Ed Turner\, Reader in Politics at Aston University. We are delighted to be co-hosting this event with the International Association for the Study of German Politics. \nJana Faus co-founded pollytix strategic research\, a research-based consulting agency focusing on polling and issue management\, in 2012. She has more than 15 years of experience in the field of social science and political consulting and has published numerous studies on politics\, society and election campaigns. Jana has co-authored ‘Aus Fehlern lernen’ (‘Learning from mistakes’)\, the analysis of the SPD election campaign 2017. \nChristian Stecker is a visiting professor at the TU Darmstadt and a research fellow and project director at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research. His research focuses on the design of democratic institutions and government formation in Germany and beyond. \nEd Turner is Reader in Politics at Aston University and Co-Director of the Aston Centre for Europe. He is particularly interested in German politics\, especially political parties and federalism\, and also politics in the UK and in comparative perspective.
