SUMMARY:Book launch - Neu Klang: The Definitive History of Krautrock by Christoph Dallach
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, 14 May at 5pm BST\, BGA members are invited to the launch of Christoph Dallach’s new book Neu Klang: The Definitive History of Krautrock edited by Faber at Rough Trade West in London. The author Christoph Dallach will be in conversation with journalist John Doran. \nFaber presents the first ever oral-history of Krautrock\, the sound that changed modern music. The unique and adventurous sounds produced by German bands such as CAN\, Neu!\, Amon Düül\, Popul Vuh\, Tangerine Dream\, Faust\, Cluster or Kraftwerk\, now widely-known as Krautrock\, are considered a blueprint for modern rock music. \nChristoph Dallach is a journalist who writes for Die Zeit\, ZEITMagazin and Spiegel among others. He lives in Hamburg. \nTickets for this event also include a copy of the book to be collected from Rough Trade East on the day of the event and you can book your space here.  \nIf you are under 25 and wish to attend this event\, there is a contingent of free guest list tickets available. SUMMARY:White Asparagus Supper
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 30 May 2024\, BGA members are invited to the National Liberal Club’s White Asparagus Supper. The evening will commence with one hour of Stammtisch from 6 to 7pm in the Smoking Room to which guests are also most welcome. At 7pm attendees will toast May with a refreshing glass of Maibowle\, followed by a traditional menu of Cream of White Asparagus Soup\, White Asparagus\, new potatoes\, Schnitzel followed by a delicious German dessert\, accompanied by half a bottle of wine  per person. English will be spoken throughout the dinner and there will be a short musical interlude. \nPrice per person: £85.00.
