As a Patrons’ Circle member, you are not simply gaining access to our wide-ranging events programme and additional Patrons’ benefits; you are also demonstrating your support for the charitable objectives of the BGA. As the civil-society hub for British-German issues in the UK, the BGA advances mutual understanding between the two countries. In particular, we promote German-language teaching in British schools; and we foster stronger links between British and German towns and regions.
Patrons’ Circle
Cost of Patrons’ Circle membership £1,000 per year.* (£200 benefits plus £800 minimum suggested donation) Benefits All benefits of standard BGA membership, including our monthly newsletter and discounts on some events open to non-members. Priority booking ahead of ordinary members for BGA in-person events. At least one event per year just for Patrons’ Circle members and other key BGA supporters. *Please note for Gift Aid purposes, we are required to indicate the commercial value of the benefits we may offer to Patrons’ Circle members (£200). Any voluntary donation above the agreed values of benefits will be eligible for Gift Aid; it is possible to purchase a Patrons’ Circle membership without making a donation.

Our Associate Membership provides access to our monthly newsletter, as well as a range of online and in-person events (the latter being subject to availability).
Please note that Associate Members are not eligible to vote at our Annual General Meeting (AGM).
This membership category is exclusively available to students, pupils, and teachers of German.
Support us
The BGA is now playing a greater role in British-German relations than ever before. We receive no regular funding from any Government, and our income from individual membership fees covers less than a fifth of our running costs. So we are reliant on donors to continue and expand our work. Your support is hugely appreciated.
