Featuring the moving first-hand testimony from surviving pupils, and drawn from letters, diaries and present-day interviews, the book recounts the remarkable true story of a German-Jewish teacher who exiled her school to England in the wake of Hitler’s rise to power in 1933 and subsequently helped to educate countless children who arrived via the Kindertransport.
