Following the success of our 2023 event with Jürgen Krauss, on 24 November 2025 from 6.30pm GMT, BGA members are invited to an exclusive online session celebrating the launch of The German Christmas Cookbook where Jürgen will be in discussion with Abigail Abesamis Demarest, editor at EatingWell.

Jürgen Krauss, renowned for his festive German bakes, will share his passion for holiday treats: from rich, fruity stollen to delicately spiced lebkuchen, marzipan delights, and the iconic gingerbread house. His recipes make traditional German baking approachable, bringing extra joy to your Christmas kitchen. This is the ultimate guide for anyone wanting to make Christmas extra special, offering cakes, tarts, biscuits, breads, and savory snacks for every festive occasion. Recipes include highlights such as Mulled Wine Cake, Yogurt Stollen, Linzer Torte, Christmas Pavlova, and Black Forest Coffee Cake.

Jürgen Krauss was the star of Bake Off 2021, his semi-finals departure triggering over 100 complaints from dismayed viewers. His love for baking began during his childhood in the Black Forest. His travels across Europe, before settling in Brighton, UK, widened his culinary influences, but also gave him the yearning to master German bread-making, the perfect showcase for both his technical precision and creative flavours.

Abigail Abesamis Demarest is a writer, editor and former New Yorker based in sunny Panama City Beach, Florida. Her writing has been featured in HuffPostInsiderBusiness InsiderMartha Stewart, Apartment TherapyThe Kitchn and more. She is EatingWell‘s News, Trending & Updates Editor.
